The road work forces the southbound closure of Warburton Avenue over Cropsey Lane from Washington Avenue to Main Street for concrete placement and setting of the bridge deck. Construction will continue through noon on May 21, weather permitting.
The southbound closure detour is posted using Main Street to Broadway (US 9) to Washington Avenue.
The northbound direction of Warburton Avenue is currently closed until December. The northbound closure detour is posted using Washington Avenue and Broadway (US 9) with a temporary traffic signal installed at the Washington Avenue and Broadway intersection. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
The construction is part of a project to replace the concrete bridge deck, sidewalks and asphalt surface, as well as to repair and paint the steel superstructure and the milling and paving of the roadway approaches.
The bridge rehabilitation project cost is $5.9 million and is being funded with County Capital Funds. For additional information, contact Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation at (914) 995-2555.
